Writing + Editing

Each author’s voice is uniquely their own. My job is to hear yours and help you get it on the page.

Whether you’ve got a manuscript draft that isn’t quite singing, an outline and notes that refuse to write themselves into chapters, or the barest whisper of a concept that needs a thorough thinking through before becoming the bestseller you want it to be, my goal is for our work together to sound like you.

My wheelhouse of expertise is personal or spiritual memoir and spiritual, religious, and self-help nonfiction, but I also have significant experience with business/leadership books and academic theology, biblical studies, and church history. Truth is, I love a good story of any kind, and at the very least can tell you what’s working and what’s not. I’m on hiatus from big ghostwriting projects, but let’s put our heads and hearts together and figure out how to birth your book.

With a solid outline and work plan, you can do this. Let’s think through your book’s structure, content, and overall flow, and put together a schedule of reachable benchmarks so you can get that sucker written. We’ll even check in along the way for encouragement and accountability.

Consulting and coaching

Sometimes a book needs a doctor to fix what’s broken so it can become the page-turner it’s meant to be. If you’ve got a complete or near-complete manuscript that needs significant restructuring and/or rewriting, the doctor is in. (Hint: It’s me.)

Substantive editing

I am a zoom-out writer/editor who highly prizes zoom-in editorial professionals. If you need a detail person, I’ll be thrilled to refer you! I can recommend stellar copyeditors and proofreaders whose attention to detail will blow your mind.

Because each project is different, I don’t use a price list or fee schedule. Let’s talk, and I’ll create a custom estimate based on the unique parameters of our collaboration.
